Churpi bars fine their origin in the Himalayan mountains. Originally made for human consumption, they are still widelt consumed by the Himalayan people and their dogs.
Churpi bars are made of "Yak and local zebu cattle" skimmed milk, lime juice and salt(0.1%). When boiling, milk coagulates (hardens) and the resulting curd is then compressed into flat cloth molds and smoke dried for 28 days to give Churpi bars their unique flavor.
